So you thought working at your desk was the worst thing to happen to you? Back in history, there were bizarre jobs that were a lot worse than the desk jobs. Perhaps we should thank our stars that we don’t have to catch rats or empty chamber pots to earn our living.

Roman Orgy Planner
Orgies were a serious affair for the rich and famous of Ancient Rome. The orgy planners were responsible for organizing these. They were required to look into every small detail of the food, the guest list, the location and made sure the event was grander than the rest.
Rat Catcher
Just as the name suggest, rat catchers actually caught rodents. Their job was to control the insanely huge population of rats in London in the Victoria era. They often used hands and sometimes even used rat poison, rat traps, and rat-catching dog breeds.
Cat Meat Deliverer
This might sound inspiring to cat-lovers but in the Victorian era, some cats would get their meat hand-delivered. Cat meat deliverers were exactly like milkmen, delivering scrapes of meat from door-to-door. Not for humans but for cats.
